Hi I’m Ruth, your workshop coach.

For over twenty years I’ve applied marketing to tackle our society's hardest challenges and public health priorities including vaccination, smoking, weight loss, getting active, mental health, obesity, early detection of cancer and managing A&E pressures. 

I have been working to reduce winter pressures since 2004 when the A&E four-hour targets were first introduced! Since then I've worked across primary care, public health and at a National level supporting Public Health England and NHS England Help Us Help You campaign. 

I understand the pressure and expectations placed on marketing and communications leads and believe that understanding your audience and using techniques and theory in behavioural science can make a huge difference. Not only to help people when they need to make care and treatment choices but also to help reduce stress by increasing confidence and inspiring communication leads. 

I’ve won awards for my work on antimicrobial resistance, skin cancer and A&E (NHS choices) and I passionately believe that marketing can have a powerful positive impact.
